Re: 2004 F250 6.0L
There is a seller on EBAY that has them $449.95 ford reman with the latest programing item#120590414131. I have one here that I just installed and it had no problems. Maybe this will help you.

I'll check it out; I'm leery of eBay since I have never used it.

Re: 2004 F250 6.0L
While I have no major qualms about ebay, my concern in purchasing parts for installation on a customers vehicle would be warranty and service after the sale in the event it is needed.
Am I overly concerned about the aspect or service after the sale or what?

Re: 2004 Ford F250 - Find 6.0L FI Inj Module?
i've used e/bay with absolutely no issues. i've purchased harnesses, reman turbo's, programming cards, pcm's. as far as the warranty goes since it's on e/bay and there is no real markup i'll inform my customer that's on e/bay, the seller has a great review and item number. they purchase it and i add my mark up to the labor. personally i wouldn't hesitate, i'de be more inclined to get one of these from an e/bay seller than a local parts store. all it would take is one or two bad reviews and that seller is out of business.

Re: 2004 Ford F250 - Find 6.0L FI Inj Module?
So, steve, and others, what do you do if you or your customer purchases a pcm or in this case, a ficm and it turns out to have a brain cramp in say a month or so. Now what? It was bought on ebay. You can't go to the dealer for warranty or a labor claim cause it wasn't purchased from them. Does the seller on ebay have warranty in cases like that? He's only the seller. I do not purchase on ebay and i remind customers that do that in the event of a faulty part or a wrong part the entire financial responsibility is theirs. I am not involved. But i stand to loose a customer if i cant stand behind what i do.
Or am I looking at this thing wrong?

The way I see it ( and I have never been accused of being too smart), if a customer is advised of the complete situation, pros and cons, and something goes wrong with the part they should understand the fact that you are not responsable for the problem. If they refuse to understand somewthing like that they might not be a customer that you want to keep. I do not use EBAY with any kind of regularity, but in some cases it is a good option. The price difference in the modules and getting it programed is something to consider real hard. You stand to lose a customer by refuseing to work with them in a situation like this. Just my muudy thoughts on the subject......

Re: 2004 Ford F250 - Find 6.0L FI Inj Module?
personally, after i've exhausted all avenues within the customers guidelines i'll let him make the decision. if that is purchasing a part that's used or reman and it fails it's on him. if i suggest new and they balk at the idea and want used or reman it's their decision and they're stuck with it. it's happened where a customer insists on reman or used, purchases the part themselves, it fails within a short time, they were warned. i'm not saying that it won't be tried to be blamed on me with this or that reason but it was them that purchased it. i'll tell them that i do charge premium prices but it's guaranteed and any failure within the time frame is on me.

I suppose if yer customer understands the risks involved with online purchases you might be ok. At this point, I do not feel overly comfortable in situations where there is less than exceptional service after the sale.
But, as I heard recently, if it werks, do it!

Re: 2004 Ford F250 - Find 6.0L FI Inj Module?
There comes a time when tying up a vehicle becomes a primary negative issue; it's a doubled edged sword.
Customer wants the part at what they consider a reasonable cost then it turns into an issue because it's been so long since they've had their vehicle. Sometimes I feel like iIm one of the Wollendas. With the quality waning in available parts I'm starting to feel that a roll of the dice isn't as dangerous as it was a few years ago.
Speaking for myself i haven't had any issues with eBay purchases and will continue when necessary.

Re: 2004 Ford F250 - Find 6.0L FI Inj Module?
I went to my database and read and reread about replacing the module and nowhere did it say it needed to be programmed.
In earlier years, I had huge issues with the harnesses and replaced more than a few modules because of the connectors backing out a bit and melting at the pin. Funny thing is there are a few recalls talking about reprogramming the module. The more I looked into it (the way it was written) it appeared they were talking about the injector module but it was in fact the power control module.
Was this truck included in the harness recall? I see there was an issue with the harness being to short and wearing through against a bolt as well as a connector issue at the egr pressure valve. This one is internal at the plug and can cause issues that will effect the driver module.
Thanks for posting the fix.........

Re: 2004 Ford F250 - Find 6.0L FI Inj Module?
I checked the harness and no chaffing. The module had voltage but it was too low, like 20 volts. I found you have to test it with a mult meter at module not the scanner due to the range of the scanner causing false readings. I saw somewere were they were repairing the moduel but I took it apart and didnt see any issues visably. It had 3 bad injectors also. Ford says it has to be programmed but im not so sure. Im going to run it off and on today and see how she does

ford says everything has to be programmed. if the pcm is reading the injector module pat it on the hood and send it.

Re: 2004 Ford F250 - Find 6.0L FI Inj Module?
I have repaired a couple. The solder breaks around some of the pins. These FICMs go bad pretty often. The way to check is just as brian said. Monitor the volts and if its bad it will start dropping out below 48.
