I've got a 2007 Ford Freestar that every time you turn the key on the rear wiper and washer run for approx 10 sec. It has a new switch. Any clues?

haven't experienced this on a freestar before but if it were another ford i would look at the bcm. are the wires at the hinge side of the hatch damaged? the rear wiper may be looking for a parking ground and if it's not there may be going through a parking cycle.

Did this start after a trip to a drive thru safari? The monkeys at Great Adventure African Safari would give us wiper and antena sales galore back when I worked at the dealership. Or maybe crumbsnatchers using the car as a jungle gym? How about a collision? Did zone replace the wipers for free? Did hubby try doing it himself? Did it start just after the carwash? I would find out exactly when this started happening. I would agree it might be looking for park.

After checking almost everything I could possibly think of, I swapped the wiper motor from its sister car; still same problem.

But I found some A H installed a fire extiguisher to the floor or should I say wiring harness! R+R pass seat and carpet, repaired 6 wires.

It's amazing how things work when hooked up properly.

and once again a shop owner is forced to explain to someone why it wasn't figured out right away while trying to justify a labor charge that's probably 1/2 of what it should be. i've seen issues where amps have been wired in with some real surprising results...........
