2000 Ford Escort ZX2 - F4EAT Trans FIXED

Vehicle starts out in 3rd gear. All power going to trans is good, all internal trans wires are good, all grounds are good, replaced PCM 2x, replaced trans solenoids, speed sensors are good, turbine speed sensor is good.
Has anyone else had this problem? Advise any solutions. Thanks in advance.

Is the computer comading it to shift properly? Have pressures been tested?

No, on start up there is a split second of power to the solenoids, then no power. We put direct voltage to each solenoid & they work.

We've checked the internal & external wiring & replaced the computer 2x. Same problem.

So it only get power to the solenoids when you run a jumper? It does not otherwise. Does it have power at the computer end of the wiring? Were are you getting power when you are jumping it?

It gets a split second of power at start up then no power. We're jumping directly off of the battery, unpluging the wires from the computer that run the solenoids & they check good, 1, 2, 3, 4 on the lift.

1. Inspect the Orange/Black (OG/BK) wire at the transmission solenoid connector for a connection problem specific to this circuit.

2. If the connection appears to be OK, disconnect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and turn the ignition switch to the Run position.

3. Jumper power from the White/Red (WH/RD) wire at PCM pin 71 to the OG/BK wire at pin 53 to listen for an audible click noise of shift solenoid 3 that occurs when the connection is made.

4. Jumper power from the WH/RD wire to the LG/BU) at PCM pin 27 or the Pink/Black (PK/BK) wire at PCM pin 1 to listen for the click noise made by shift solenoids 1 and/or 2 for comparison.

5. If the circuit is OK but the #3 shift solenoid is quieter than the click noise made by shift solenoid 1 and/or 2, replace the main control assembly which contains all of the shift solenoids.

Yes, range sensor checks good & we put new solenoid assembly on vehicle. We're pulling it off now to see if it is the problem.
