6.3 SE Stock Order For Non Stocked Part

Long story, but here is the short.

Awhile ago due to some price "playing" we had in our systems inventory two types of oil filters. In this example I'll use "R85372" and "R85372MP". Well, the price game is over. I have went and deleted all of the numbers we really dont need (R85372) (they cost more than the other now) and have kept the numbers (R85372MP) that we really want.

Heres the kicker. I just did a computer generated Stock order and it shows 5 oil filter numbers. I look at the shelf to confirm the computer is right. Well, NONE of those filters are ones we stock. I looked into inventory and they are NOT in the inventory. I searched by part number "R85372" and like I would expect it brought up "R85372MP" but no R85372. What am I missing?

We are 6.3 SE.

me no SE, but. i believe if you do a pn search, enter R85372 it will search for any part with R85372 in the pn. that is why you got R85372mp results. which pn's came up on your stock order? it could be these showed on the report because the month end has not been done yet.

The number that came up were all ones that had "MP" at the end that no longer do. I understand why search worked the way it did. Just don't understand why they still show in the system only while doing a SO, looking at the line code "RFI" they are NOT there.

The month end thing? Never thought it would effect it. Hope yer right Boss!

i found out about month end and report results a ways back. i tried to click the sales button on the inventory part screen, and showed no sales history, when i knew i sold a bunch of them. the gurus fingered it out. that was the first time i ever did month end. only like 3-4 years ago.

Same here. That is why I'd be shocked if it fixed this issue.

well, tried it today and it did not do it. So month end may have done it. or maybe i'm just lucky. either way i don't care, did a SO this a.m. and it was OK............so far.

I'm having the same problem with one single part. There is absolutely no part in inventory or anywhere else and it keeps showing up on a "Restock from Inventory". I was hoping the month end would do it but apparently not. I'm waiting for the 6.4 version with anticipation.

Was the Inventory & Alt Part No. report ever looked at?

Yes. This was a volvo tag bulb (6418) I ran a search through inventory for that number and nothing was found. Then ran a search by description. There was another volvo tag bulb in inventory and I search the ALT part # box under that part and found nothing.....beats me....

Strange. How about the Incomplete Inventory Item report? This item record may still be hiding below the surface but worth a look.

Tim, I just tried to run the Incomlete Inventory item report. It is not a report in 6.3SE so I couldn't run it. However I did run it in 5.9 and it was listed there. The only item left incomplete was the cost and list.
