The day has come, QA released version 6.6.8 update you can install. Close Manager on all all workstations. The patch must be run at the HOST machine first. Then go to each workstation, and run the same patch. You may download it from http://www.m1faqs.com/fix/SE/6.6.8.exe READ the WHAT'S NEW doc. Amoung other things, this version allows:

Revision tabs for the customer vehicle can now named by double clicking the revision tab text
Can now Pay/Post Counter sale from WIP screen
Part Item Edit dialog now has editable Margin field, setting a value there will update the user entered sale price to create the desired margin
Invoice and Counter Sale screen now include 'Balance-at-a-glance'

Added new setting for checking only for matching part numbers when transferring from a catalog (not enabled by default)

• Find setting at Shop Data -> Default Settings -> 'Check for Substitute part(s) when transferring from catalogs'
  When enabled, transferring parts from a catalog looks for a part# match against inventory, and when multiples are found, the substitute parts dialog is displayed to resolve against inventory.
  When selecting an alternate part that does not have enough on hand qty, two lines items will be created to allow for ordering the remaining qty
  When not enabled, behavior remains as before

Report Changes

• Invoice reports show Hazmat on left or right side depending on Tax as labor/part setting
  Committed parts reports fixed to no longer cause divide by zero error
  Accounting reports standardized with '*** No Cust Name***' for counter sales with no customer
  Accounting reports now handle maximum length of first, last, and/or company name
  Florida Invoice from history will correctly show 'Invoice from history'
  Florida invoice correctly displays balance due when using tire fees
  INV Stock Paper report: Taxes will not be broken out unless there are more than one
  Sales Summary Monthly report fixed to handle large totals
  Low Inventory Report updated to include 'Location' field
  Tech Hours report now calculates average effective hours correctly
  Service Writer Posted Order Report:
  • Show Service Writer's effective labor rate
    Sublet no longer included in labor total (has its own column, and shown in total column)
    Report is in landscape
  Wisconsin Invoice Reports:
  • New "INV w/o Hrs/Part # (WI)"
    Revision disclaimers included
  Tech Hours Report - fixed issue with formula calculating average effective hours

Will this update the version number in the bottom right corner?

Have tried twice and it DOES NOT update. Any ideas? Thanks, Jeff.

I went into the program & it now states it is downloading & will tell me when to turn off workstations to install.

If the stations seem to be "stuck" downloading for a long period of time, close them down and then right-click the desktop icon for Manager and chose Run As Administrator.

It's the host that is saying that JD.

I actually cancelled out & it installed.

how long did update take? I am itching to update, wonder if i should risk it now or wait till after we close

I did this update first thing this morning. It took me about 30-45 minutes to do 5 computers. The host machine took the longest. probably 15 minutes. the rest were fast. I have to say I love this update. So many very cool features. I love the labeling of revision tabs and the parts margin box that can be edited and it updates the sell price. I'm still finding things to. Great job John and crew.

Please. STOP. all these "oh i love it" posts are driving me insane. Its like being outside a Lego store, that is closed, and watching all the other kids playing. I have to wait until tomorrow to update..

I was just pointing out that nice feature on the Sell Revision screen at the NACE | CARS show in Detroit.

That will be the coolest thing since electric shifters on my bicycle. Insane improvement!! that will be soooooooo handy to have.

Sadly since we don't transfer the revisions anymore because they automatically now go to an RO, won't get to enjoy that feature.....

But so far LOVE, LOVE most of the other ones. Especially being able to see when the vehicle was last in on the vehicle screen.

Ric,I never notice that the labels carried over to the sell window. That is awesome. Rhiling I never noticed the vehicle info either. I will definate look at that tomorrow.

You would probably like the 'Balance-at-a-glance' feature, on the order screen you now see what payments the customer may have made and the balance due on the order Did we also mention you might also like the new F4 History Screen

What i would also like is for us to not be one week behind. I love the business, but its getting old...."i dropped my car off there last thursday (with no appointment) and you still havent gotten to it?" Our next appointment is August 3rd.

I will be sure to love the new update. If i ever get the time to do it.....

I hear you on this one....I dread most Mondays, because we will have 3 - 4 cars in the lot that got dumped off over the weekend without an appointment and then they want it worked in right away...even though the rest of the week is booked solid. However better to be this way then not have enough work!!

My boss is wondering if this update will install on it's own or will we need to use the link above.... just wondering how the process is going to work...

I personally love that we can manually do the update ourselves... he is hesitate to pull the trigger....
