I have replaced the DPFE and it has a new EGR. Removed EGR and cleanded intake all tubes and hoses are clean or new, getting vacume to egr and it holds vacume. Still getting EGR code p0401. All electrical conections are clean.. The only thing left is the PCM?

When you look in Freeze-Frame what are your readings?

Steve, I do not believe the color was specified, neither was the engine size or 2/4wd.

The user may have forgot how to get here! I did this in a photography forum. Posted a question then had no idea what forum I had posted it in. I finaly found the forum, figured out my password and found I had about 10 responces from people wanting to help. I felt like a fool.

We also need to remember that this forum is full of elite people, I find that users tend to pounce on posts from people needing help. In other forums I have posted in it took upwards to 2 days to get a response.

He's new, lets not jump him/her to hard yet.......

Just spoke to the fellow at the S&K shop, let him know that several people were looking to help but needed more information.

He agreed to come back and post what fixed it and what the issues were.

sorrry , could not fig. out how to get back here .after i got a new password i forgot . the egr port into intake was carboned just enough to throw code cleaned ( lit torch in hole while runing) perfect now. thank again and sorry for not getting back

thanks for posting that you figured it out. as a rule when fords come in with these codes and high mileage we always clean out the sensor ports on the egr tubes. we will always replace the two hoses as well. to many times has one cracked when we removed the sensor and caused a leak eventually turning the hose into dust. try to make a habit of removing the hoses from the tubes not the sensor. that way you'll see any carbon build up. it can be plainly seen on the tube. don't let the banter you've seen in your posting stop you from future communications. we / i need new members. keeps the focus off me.............
