We have used revision #9 for LOF's for 8 years with great success. Only problem we have ever had was when we raise prices. Labor, oil, and filter prices do not increase to new prices. Or am I missing something?

You're not missing anything. While parts get updated in Revisions Canned Jobs and Labor do not when they use a manually entered amount that overrides a standard rate and time. Often oil changes and tire rotations will use a manually entered amount. My SA and I have to be diligent in adjusting to reflect the current pricing.

This is exactly why we don't use Revisions. If your pricing changes your Revisions have to be updated. Why there isn't an automated solution for this I have no idea.

Scenario:
- Customer comes in w/a new vehicle, you press the "LOF" button and a lookup is done in the database. A message is posted saying "an oil change not found for this vehicle". Therefore you add the LOF info (how many qts, filter part number, etc.This info is saved in the database.
- The next time that vehicle comes in you press the "LOF" button and a lookup is done in the database, info is found & the RO is populated with the appropriate oil change information.
- Same steps are followed for every subsequent time that vehicle comes in for an oil change. Essentially you press the "LOF" button and it populates the info to the RO.

Now you update pricing...
- Same vehicle comes for an oil change, press the "LOF" button, oil change info is populated with pre-pricing increase info, you update the RO to the new pricing. This "new" oil change info for this vehicle is automatically saved in the database.
- Vehicle comes back for an oil change, press the "LOF" button and the new pricing info is populated, from the database, to the RO w/the new pricing info.

The beauty of it is this: you don't have to use Rev 9 if you don't want to. It's a choice. For my shop, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks.

BTW, with the Revision overhaul it doesn't have to be called Rev 9 any longer, although I just might stay with tradition.
